The market town of Kendal is full of charm with cobbled
streets and 'yards' offering a unique shopping and relaxing
visitor experience. There are plenty of places to eat out to
suit all budgets. Kendal Castle which is a short walk from the
town was the birthplace of Katherine Parr - Henry VIII's sixth
and last wife. There are plenty of things to do with
attractions, sporting facilities and museums. Visit www.southlakeland.gov.uk/tourism
for more information.
One of Britain's favourite destinations - The Lake District
has some of the most wonderful scenery in the world - and
provides the perfect backdrop to many activities from walking,
sailing, cycling to more relaxing pastimes. See www.golakes.co.uk
for further information.
Coarse fishing is available in Whinfell Tarn which adjoins
Crook Howe and we have fishing rights on the tarn. As the
picture below shows the tarn is home to fish big enough to
satisfy the needs of most anglers!
